Update on one of our Veterans

The DVA is a very devious organization. When our Veteran's Congressman's staff met with the DVA and confronted them with the record of what the DVA had done to him, the DVA man asked for two weeks. He knew Congress was about to go into recess, and that in two weeks none of the staffers would be in DC. So follow-up will wait until after Labor Day when Congress returns.

Needless to say, the Congressman's staff, and the Veteran's attorneys a PO'd beyond all recognition.

In the meantime, the regional office sent a packet to the Veterans denying him benefits for diseases he actually never claimed. He also got a letter saying his "...claim had been received but there had been so many lately...etc."

"Delay, deny, until they die" at work in this instance.

Obviously, the DVA is rife with anti-Veteran sentiment up and down their chain, and lying to the face of Congressional staffers is probably worth a promotion.

The DVA has repeatedly displayed a callous disregard for the true rights of Veterans, a lack of respect for those who fought, and often spilled their blood for the right of the very people now passing judgment on the Veterans to seek and hold those jobs.

I wouldn't give a flying fig for any of those DVA bloodsuckers. They've got their cushy government jobs and to hell with the American Veteran.

And this goes all the way to the top, to Secretary Shinseki and his boss, and the many men who preceded him in the oval office. Collectively they have turned a blind eye to the needs of Veterans for the care they should be given. The attitude of the bloodsuckers that "delay and deny until they die" stems from the attitudes in the Whitehouse from Andrew Johnson until the current occupant.

It is the shame of a great nation that their leaders, and those who work for them are such small men with small minds.

August 30 Claim Deadline for AO New Disease Retro Payments

This warning just in from the American Legion Online:

Vietnam-era veterans who have medical diagnoses for three presumptive conditions related to Agent Orange exposure need to file their disability claims with the Department of Veterans Affairs by Aug. 30 in order to qualify for up to one year of retroactive benefits.

The three diseases recently added to VA's list of presumptive conditions related to Agent Orange exposure or other herbicides during the Vietnam War are ischemic heart disease, hairy cell and other B-cell leukemias, and Parkinson's disease.

"Veterans who suffer from these presumptive conditions can apply for disability benefits at any time," said Verna Jones, director of The American Legion's Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Division. "But they need to apply by the Aug. 30 deadline in order to possibly get up to a year's worth of benefits retroactively,"

Widows and widowers whose spouses have died from Agent Orange presumptive conditions may also qualify for retroactive benefits and are encouraged to file for dependent indemnity compensation by Aug. 30.

Veterans can file for disability claims online at VA's Agent Orange Fast Track Claims Processing System.

Dear Senators Boxer and Feinstein, Congresswoman Sanchez, and President Obama,

It's been bad enough government grows in size almost every day, our financial situation gets worse and worse to the point that by the time 2040 rolls around, the United States will not longer be the United States as we will have such a massive debt we won't even be able to meet the interest payments.

Then we will no longer be a free nation, we will be owned by whom ever the lender with the greatest investment is, either Russia or China.

Congress and the President are constantly asking Americans to sacrifice to make our nation grow, but sacrifice to what end and what growth?

Social Security funds have constantly been borrowed against and never repaid, the retirement age is continually increased forcing those in the working class to work 5-10 years longer just to retire on a meager income which WE and our employers pay into and Congress and the President are excluded from.

You force our Veterans to sacrifice even more! Not only have they served their Country with pride, honor and dignity, but then are forced to come home and continue to battle with the very same Country they served!

But they're asked to do even more, to give up benefits, services, medical care, is this how our Country thanks them for their service?

Then we have the children through no fault of their own are asked to give up too, by means of education cuts, reduction in teachers, and increases in class sizes.

When was the last time a member of Congress gave up a portion of their salary? When was the last time a member of Congress had their benefits cut?

Mr. President, you are the leader of this country, and with that position comes great responsibility, and with that responsibility some very hard and very tough decisions must be made.

But, Mr. President, where were your hard line decisions on cutting staff, cutting salaries, cutting benefits, cutting bonuses and perks? They're non-existent because you expect, no you demand that the American public give it up so the rich become richer on the backs of the working class and poor.

Congressman Boehner should not nor should any member of Congress even be thinking about raising the social security retirement age!

No member of Congress should be thinking about cutting the NDAA budget or the VA budget. You want and must make cuts, but start at the top!

Congress must stop acting like children in a sand box or on a playground and end the fighting among yourselves and do the job WE THE PEOPLE put you in office to do!

We did not hire you to fight, we did not hire you to spend our hard earned tax dollars on pet projects or giving it away in social programs for illegal aliens, and for the record no I will not ever address an illegal alien as an "immigrant" to me that is a slap in the face, an insult to all the millions who have come to our country using all fully legal methods and protocols.

And for once it would be nice it all 535 members of Congress stood tall before the American Public and said yes we will fight any form of Amnesty, any form of Immigration Reform and we will demand full enforcement of our immigration laws!

And for once it would be really nice if all 535 members of Congress were to put their heads together and find ways to cut our budget by no less than 20% across the board starting at the top and working your way down, avoiding Seniors, Veterans and Children!

You want to bring back more jobs, then I'd strongly suggest you look at all businesses in the United States who export jobs. Tax them heavily to do export jobs and tax them heavily on all products made in a foreign country and shipped into the United States for purchase.

Stop waiving import and export fees no matter who is involved. If they want to do business then let them do it and pay to do it!

It's not that hard, and keep in mind YOU do work for us, we do NOT work for you!

You saw a huge upset in 2010 elections with members of Congress, well rest assured we are all ANGRY and mad as hell and no we will NOT take this mess any more!

So I very strongly urge you to think very long and very hard and develop a budget we can live by and prove you can reduce government spending.

We the People are still paying $40 for a generic 60 watt light bulb. If our federal employees can't find a better price, well then they need to be replaced! Think about it!

Congresswoman Sanchez, I have a challenge for you. If you are as dedicated to Veterans as you have claimed to be, then let’s schedule a town hall meeting here in Orange County and I will personally notify all Veteran Service Organizations and pack a hall for you!

Respectfully,

Jim Davis
Founder & CEO Veterans-For-Change,

Outstanding Jim. Indeed, all three branches of government have totally lost touch with the American people, and indeed, with America itself.
