Send Info on Congressional Contacts!

We thought we'd check in with you all to see how you are making out. Several folks have contacted us with information about their Representatives agreeing to sign on to HR 6562, the Agent Orange Equity Act of 2008. No word yet on Senators, but hopefully, that will start breaking soon.

It is extremely important that we get as many Representatives on board ASAP. Equally important are the Senators, who must offer a Senate version of HR 6562 for concurrent consideration.

We are attempting to build a database of both houses as far as whether they have been contacted by mail, email, phone, or personal visits, and whether they have agreed to co-sponsor HR 6562 [in the House], or to introduce a Senate version, and/or co-sponsor the Senate version in the Senate.

Please, if you have made contact, use the Email Me feature, on the left sidebar, to let me know all about your contact efforts and provide as much of the information from the previous pagaraph. We'll need to know the name of the Rep or Senator, and their state.

Please remember folks, from now until the 22nd is about the only time you will have to get to them while they are home. It is absolutely crucial that you take advantage of this opportunity to buttonhole your CongressCritters and get them on board. It is our bill, the one that will fix things, eliminate the difference between Blue Water and Brown, restore the Vietnam Service Medal as the criteria for eligibility for Agent Orange presumption, and restore those same benefits to the Air Force guys who lost them back in 1993, the same way we did in 2002, and it will also finally grant coverage under the Agent Orange Act of 1991 in the same way to Veterans of Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.

If you are like us, you need and deserve those benefits. If you want them to become available to you, this bill is the fastest, surest way to ensure that it happens. It is in your hands. The timing of this bill was no accident. Congress is watching to see how many of us are willing to go the extra mile to make contact with them on this. If you don't support it, how can they?
